Hello everyone! I’m Ray.

This is my first post. You can tell that I do not know what I’m doing. So far, I created my ABOUT page. I still need to work on the design and etc. This will take way longer than I hoped it to be because I do not know anything about web designing!

Let me introduce ourselves quickly.

I’m Ray. I’m 34 years old. I am with my current job for a little bit over a month and hate it already with passion!

My husband and I have been married with no kids (by choice) since 2006.

We have two dog babies. It’s sad to say “two” because we just recently lost one.
The one in the middle is the girl that left this world recently. They are our kids. We try to travel together as long as flying is not involved. Luckily they do not have to go to college so we do not have to worry about saving money for their education but we always keep their medical cost in mind. Maybe we can talk about this more someday.

We agreed to not have any children before we got married. I can list so many reasons why we do not want any children but long story short, we do not want such responsibilities and we want our freedom. Since I was little, my dream was to marry someone and have two dogs. I ended up with three dogs but that’s OK.

As far as our financial situation goes…

We have no debt other than mortgage. Our wedding was paid by my parents and us (50:50). We are proud to say that we put 20% down when we bought our house back in 2010. We got lucky and bought this house pretty much at the bottom of the market in Las Vegas. It was a good deal. Our cars are both paid off. I financed my car only because it was 0% interest.

We try to be as frugal as possible yet still enjoy traveling the country and the world. All of my family members live in Japan so we need to visit them once in the while, too. Being frugal to me does not mean that we have no fun. We just have a simple lifestyle. For example, we try to eat at home because it just makes sense to do so financially and also it is healthier that way. But, it does not mean that we never dine out. We enjoy dining out very much. We just don’t do it as often as our friends may enjoy.

We started with no debt when we got married but we did not start rich either.

But we saved little by little and never stopped and our assets are still growing. I just need to accomplish my goal of achieving the freedom. I am overwhelmed. I am stressed. I am frustrated but I cannot stop. I just need to keep doing this one page at a time…
